Ellis Beach Surf Life Saving Club

About the Club

Ellis Beach SLSC is a volunteer-run club dedicated to community safety, education and surf sports on one of Tropical North Queensland’s most picturesque beaches. Our members patrol between the red and yellow flags, teach vital water safety skills, and represent the North Queensland branch at local, state and national carnivals.

Patrols

Patrols are delivered by trained volunteers on weekends and public holidays during the season. Members keep watch, provide first aid, perform preventative actions and rescues when required.

North Queensland carnival eligibility typically requires minimum patrolling hours for Active members.
Rosters are communicated to members; please arrange swaps early if needed.

Nippers (Junior Activities)

Nippers builds ocean awareness and confidence for kids through fun, age‑appropriate beach and water activities. New families are welcome each season.

Programs for ages 5–13, with youth pathways beyond.
Board, flags, wade and swim events plus beach safety education.
Opportunities to compete at local North Queensland carnivals.
